Roman Rimini
Rimini is not only a beach resort and the summer-party capital: the town was the earliest colony established by the Romans in Northern Italy and a bridgehead for the Roman expansion. This walking tour (2 hours) will led you to explore the past of this modern town, from the Arch built to celebrate the Emperor Augustus and that gave access to the town to the Bridge of Tiberius, still in use after more than 2000 years. Then the tour will continue with a visit to the archaeological site of the Domus del Chirurgo, a doctor’s surgery and house discovered by chance in the town center. The excavation has brought to light 150 medical implements that shed new light on surgeries and ailments of more than 18 centuries ago.
